What is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia, or male breast reduction surgery, is the surgical process in which Dr. David K. Funt will surgically remove any extra fat or breast tissue that are causing your breasts to look fuller and more feminine. By making small incisions either under the armpit or around the nipples, and while you are sedated under anesthesia, Dr. David K Funt will then go into the breasts and start to remove fat cells and breast tissue by using a combination of a scalpel and liposuction.
What is recovery like?
Once you are out of surgery and are sent to recovery, you will be monitored for an hour or two until you are deemed by Dr. Funt that you are indeed safe to go home. Once you get home, you will be required to stay in bed and rest for at least a few days as your body heals itself. Additionally, you will be required to wear some sort of compression shirt while you’re at home in order to prevent against your incision site opening and to help with recovery. After two weeks of wearing your compression shirt and once your stitches have been taken out, you should be able to return back to your normal activities.
What are results like?
The results that you receive from gynecomastia will make you want to jump for joy. Not only will the results help you to feel confident without a shirt on but they will also make you feel more confident about yourself overall.
