BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.

The procedure for BOTOX® is simple: Dr. Funt makes a series of tiny injections into the muscles that are causing the wrinkles or lines in the forehead. The area may be numbed with a cold pack or anesthetic cream before administering the injections. Most patients feel nothing more than a quick pinch or sting like a bug bite. The whole procedure takes about ten minutes.
Possible side effects of BOTOX® treatments include redness or discomfort at the injection sites, muscle weakness and pain in the face. These usually fade after the first week. Other possible side effects include headache, respiratory infection, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea.
Results should be visible within a few days and should reach maximum effect within a week. The effects of a BOTOX® treatment can last up to four months, at which time patients may come in for a follow-up treatment.

What is Radiesse® made of?
Radiesse® is composed of microspheres in a water-based gel. The microspheres—made of a substance called calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA)—stimulate the production of collagen to smooth lines and wrinkles and also add younger-looking suppleness to the face. Radiesse® is made from minerals similar to what makes up our bones. There is no need for pre-treatment allergy testing, and it is absorbed naturally by the body over time.
What areas does Radiesse® treat?
Radiesse® can be used on many areas of the face and body. Numerous studies have shown Radiesse® to be especially effective for filling and correcting smile lines, nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth), marionette lines (from the corners of the mouth to the chin), and other lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It can also be used to treat depressed scars and oral commissures.
Radiesse® has also been approved by the FDA to restore and correct the signs of lipoatrophy (loss of fat beneath the skin) in patients with HIV.
What can I expect during treatment?
At your Radiesse® treatment, your doctor will clean the treatment area and administer a series of quick injections with a fine needle. Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. There is little to no downtime; many patients return to their normal activities after their appointment.
Patients typically need only one or two treatments to achieve the full effect of Radiesse®. Your doctor may recommend a follow-up appointment to determine whether you would benefit from additional treatments.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects such as mild irritation, itching, swelling, discoloration or tenderness at the injection site are minimal and should fade within a few days.
When will I see the results of my Radiesse® treatment? How long do results last?
Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for up to a year or more. Touch-up treatments can prolong Radiesse®'s effects. Studies have shown that patients require fewer re-treatments with Radiesse® than with other leading dermal fillers.

“What is Sculptra®Aesthetic?
Sculptra®Aesthetic is a synthetic injectable material known as “poly-L-lactic acid”. Poly-L-lactic acid is biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). Poly-L-lactic acid has been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants and other types of implants. It is the only filler on the market that is a "volumizing" agent designed to add volume and contour to the face and has been used around the world for many years as a cosmetic filler.
How Does Sculptra®Aesthetic work?
Sculptra®Aesthetic is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss and provides a gradual increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions. Treatment sessions are spread out at monthly intervals to allow a gradual and natural looking correction. The product will not correct the underlying cause of the facial fat loss but will help improve the appearance by increasing skin thickness in the treated area.
Is Skin Testing Required?
No skin testing is required prior to use.
Are the Results Immediate?
No. The day of your treatment it may appear that Sculptra®Aesthetic worked immediately because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute the product. In a few days, when the swelling goes down, and the water is absorbed by your body, you may look as you did before your treatment. SCULPTRA™ takes several weeks to gradually correct the depression in your skin and add volume to the face and temples. It can also be used to lift areas of the face as in a face lift, lift areas over the brow and reduce lines and depressions around the mouth and hands. Dr. Funt will suggest the areas that he feels might benefit from Sculptra®Aesthetic injections in your face. After the treatment he will see you again in a month to decide if you need more Sculptra®Aesthetic injections.
How Many Treatments Are Required?
Dr. Funt will decide the appropriate number of treatment sessions and the amount of Sculptra®Aesthetic you will need at each session. Most patients require 2-4 treatment sessions. Patients with severe fat loss often require more treatments.
How Long Do the Treatments Last?
Treatment results will differ for each person. In a clinical study the treatment results lasted for up to 2 years in most patients with facial wasting and longer in cosmetic applications. Touch-up treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.”

The injection itself usually takes approximately 15 minutes.
Although anesthesia is not required, your doctor may use a topical or injectable anesthesia to numb the treatment area. JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel will be injected under your skin to add volume or fill wrinkles and folds. After the injection, your doctor may gently massage the treated areas.
There is minimal recovery time with JUVÉDERM®. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize risk of temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites.
Some temporary symptoms, such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps may occur but usually clear up on their own within a week. Any swelling at the injection site can be minimized with an ice pack for a brief period. Your healthcare provider will tell you when makeup may be applied after your treatment.
What are the results?
Most patients see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas and only need one treatment to achieve optimal results. Results may vary and touch up treatments may be required to maintain results, but JUVÉDERM® can smooth lines and wrinkles for up to a year.
Belotero is the latest, most advanced form of dermal filler available today. It has a unique ability to integrate with the tissues of your skin, providing volume and a more youthful shape to your face. Belotero can reduce lines and wrinkles while enhancing your own facial contours.
As we get older, our skin’s production of the substances that keep it moisturized and supple begins to slow, resulting in an increase in wrinkles and lines. But Belotero is a dermal filler that incorporates one of these natural substances, hyaluronic acid (HA), to help you achieve smoother, more youthful looking skin once again.
In clinical studies of Belotero, 97 percent of patients showed a visible improvement after a single treatment. Belotero can eliminate even the finest of lines. Belotero injections plump the skin subtly and evenly so patients appear relaxed and refreshed without looking like they have a noticeable implant.
There are different formulations of Belotero available, making it ideal to improve a wide variety of skin issues. This filler can treat frown lines between the eyebrows, periorbital lines (crow’s feet), nasolabial folds from the nose to the corners of the mouth, perioral lines and marionette lines from the corners of the mouth to the jaw. In addition, it can round the cheekbones, plump the lips, restore softness to the hands and décolletage and more.
The quick and nearly painless procedure typically takes 20 minutes and most people can return to work immediately afterward. The results of Belotero treatment are not permanent and vary by individual. For most patients, the effects are still visible nine months after an injection. Follow-up treatments are typically done every six to 12 months.
